Turn the word breaker on or off

Although Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean do not use blank spaces to delineate words, you may want to select words when working in these languages. For this reason, Microsoft Office 2003 Proofing Tools includes a word breaker for these languages. When you turn on the word breaker, it separates continuous characters into “words” that you can select by dragging or by double-clicking them. The word breaker is available in Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003, Microsoft Office Publisher 2003, and Microsoft Office Word 2003.

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. Click the Edit tab.
3. Select or clear the When selecting, automatically select entire word check box.
