Stack drawing objects

Drawing objects automatically stack in individual layers as you add them to a chart. You see the stacking order when objects overlap— the top object covers a portion of objects beneath it. You can create different effects by overlapping objects when you draw. You don't have to draw the bottom object first— you can always move it later.

  1. Select the object you want to move.

If the object is hidden behind other objects, click one of the objects, and then press TAB or SHIFT+TAB until the one you want is selected.

  2. On the Drawing toolbar, click Draw, and then point to Order.
  3. Click the command for the placement you want.
    To do this Click
Bring an object to the front of the stack Bring to Front
Send an object to the back of the stack Send to Back
Bring an object one step closer to the front Bring Forward
Send an object one step toward the back Send Backward
