"Search" window

This dialog displays a list of entries found for your query word. This list is divided into the following sections:

cards in which the query word appears as heading; cards  in which the query word appears in the translation section; cards in which the query word appears in the examples section; cards in which the query word appears in the comment section. Note:  Lingvo looks for a word or phrase in all dictionaries. The name of the dictionary in which the word has been found is displayed to the right of the word. In Multilingual Edition you can also use all the languages of all active dictionaries when searching for a word or a phrase.

"Search" window buttons:

- Open a card from the suggestion list. Click this button to open a word card from the suggestion list.

- Sync contents. Click this button to place the card headword to the Edit line and to arrange the overall Word List so that the headword and words nearest it are displayed.

- Add search results. Click this button to enlarge the number of entries meeting your query (if there are many).

- Reduce search results. Click this button to reduce the number of entries meeting your query (if there are many).

- Change search parameters. Click this button to open the Options/Search dialog for you to be able to modify the search parameters.
