By default, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services disallows the creation of linked objects, such as linked dimensions and linked measure groups. In order to enable the linking of these objects both instances need to enable this feature. This is controlled by using SQL Server Management Studio to change the values of the Link\ToOtherInstanceEnabled and Link\FromOtherInstanceEnabled server configuration properties, or by using this dialog.
