How to: Install Analysis Services from the Command Prompt

SQL Server Setup

You can install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services (SSAS) by using the SQL Server Installation Wizard, or you can install it from the command prompt. The Installation Wizard provides a graphical user interface that guides you through each install-time decision, and is the recommended method for most users. Installations at the command prompt are for advanced scenarios such as silent and remote installation. You can run the installation directly at the command prompt or from command prompt syntax that references an .ini file to specify installation options.

Important:
This topic and the other Analysis Services installation how-to topics in this section focus only on installation options that are specific to Analysis Services. However, these topics provide links to other topics for more information about installation of SQL Server.
