The Data Mining Extensions (DMX) OPENROWSET function supports ad hoc queries using external providers. If your applications and scripts do not use this function, disable ad hoc data mining queries.
If you enable ad hoc data-mining queries, you can enable or disable the passing of OLEDB provider name and connection string when using OPENROWSET.
Options
- Enable Ad hoc data mining queries

If checked, the DMX OPENROWSET function is enabled.
