LabVIEW Real-Time Target Configuration

Complete the following steps to configure your remote system for use with the LabVIEW Real-Time Module. For a more complete explanation of these steps, refer to the LabVIEW Real-Time Target Configuration Tutorial.

  1. Boot into LabVIEW Real-Time
    Before you begin configuration, make sure your RT series hardware is booted into LabVIEW Real-Time. For information about how to boot into LabVIEW Real-Time, refer to Booting into the LabVIEW Real-Time Module.
  2. Configure Network Settings
    Your remote system must have an IP address assigned to it before you can do further configuration. Use the Network Settings panel to either manually specify an IP address or obtain one automatically. For information on how to assign an IP address, refer to Assigning an IP Address.

  3. Install Software
    Install any relevant software that does not exist on your remote system or update outdated software using the LabVIEW Real-Time Software Wizard. To launch the LabVIEW Real-Time Software Wizard, expand the target, highlight Software under your target, and click the Add/Remove Software icon in the toolbar.   4. Configure I/O
    You must configure any National Instruments I/O devices before you can target them from a LabVIEW Real-Time application. For information on how to correctly configure I/O devices, refer to Device Configuration.
  5. Configure System Settings
    For information about how to configure your target's time zone and locale, refer to Configuring System Settings.

When you complete these steps, your remote system is ready to target from LabVIEW Real-Time.
