Launch Settings Reset Disk
The Launch Settings Reset Disk resets the system so that the LabVIEW Real-Time Module does not start any user applications on startup. No other settings are affected. Use this disk if a runaway user application has caused the system to become unresponsive upon startup.
Note You must use Windows XP/2000 computers to create this disk utility. If your system uses Windows Vista, you must create a Desktop PC Utility USB Drive instead. |
Creating the Launch Settings Reset Disk
Complete the following steps to create a Launch Settings Reset Disk from your host PC or PXI system:
- Place a floppy disk in the drive of the host PC. Any data on the floppy disk will be overwritten.
- Launch MAX by selecting All Programs»National Instruments»Measurement & Automation Explorer from the Windows Start menu on the host PC.
- Select Tools»RT Disk Utilities»Create Launch Settings Reset Disk.
- The Launch Settings Reset Disk dialog box appears. Click Yes to make the boot disk. Follow the instructions that appear on your screen.
- Select the version of the disk utilities you want to use.
- After the system finishes creating the boot disk, remove the floppy disk and label it LabVIEW RT Launch Settings Reset Disk.
Using the Launch Settings Reset Disk
Complete the following steps to boot into Launch Settings Reset mode using an RT target with a floppy drive:
- Place the disk in the RT target's floppy drive.
- Power on or reset the remote system to reset the launch settings.
- Remove the disk from the RT target and boot as normal.
