Uninstall Disk
The Uninstall Disk removes an installation of the LabVIEW Real-Time Module, along with all configuration information, such as IP address. Use the uninstall disk if the remote system becomes unresponsive and prevents you from installing software remotely.
Note You must use Windows XP/2000 computers to create this disk utility. If your system uses Windows Vista, you must create a Desktop PC Utility USB Drive instead. |
Creating the Uninstall Disk
Complete the following steps to create an uninstall disk from your host computer:
- Place a floppy disk in the drive of the host PC. Any data on the floppy disk will be overwritten.
- Launch MAX by selecting All Programs»National Instruments»Measurement & Automation Explorer from the Windows Start menu on the host computer.
- Select Tools»RT Disk Utilities»Create Uninstall Disk.
- The Uninstall Disk dialog box appears. Click Yes to make the boot disk. Follow the instructions that appear on your screen.
- Select the version of the disk utilities you want to use.
- After the system finishes creating the boot disk, remove the floppy disk and label it LabVIEW RT Uninstall Disk.
Using the Uninstall Disk
Complete the following steps to boot into this mode:
- Place the disk in the RT target's floppy drive.
- Reboot the RT target.
- Remove the disk from the RT target and replace it with a boot disk.
- Reboot the RT target again.
You must now use MAX to reconfigure the RT target and reinstall software.
