Getting Started

The DAQ Assistant helps you configure tasks, virtual channels, and scales using a graphical interface. You can launch the DAQ Assistant from your National Instruments application software such as LabVIEW, LabVIEW SignalExpress, LabWindows/CVI, or Measurement Studio. You also can launch the DAQ Assistant from MAX.

Using the DAQ Assistant, you can do the following things:

• Create and edit tasks and virtual channels
• Add virtual channels to tasks
• Create and edit scales
• Test your configuration
• Save your configuration
• Generate code in your NI application software for use in your application
• View connection diagrams for your sensors

Note  You must use version 7.x or later of LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, or Measurement Studio or version 2.x or later of LabVIEW SignalExpress to use the DAQ Assistant.
