Client Protocols - VIA Properties (Protocol Tab)

SQL Server Configuration Manager

In Microsoft SQL Server Configuration Manager, use the Protocol tab on the VIA Properties dialog box to view or specify the following options for the Virtual Interface Adapter. For more information about connection strings, see Creating a Valid Connection String Using VIA Protocol.

Important:
The VIA protocol is deprecated. This feature will be removed in a future version of Microsoft SQL Server. Avoid using this feature in new development work, and plan to modify applications that currently use this feature.
