3. Multilingual Variables
A multilingual variable is essentially a character string whose contents vary with the language being used. Multilingual variables can only be defined and used in multilingual enabled partitions.
Multilingual variables are defined at the system (rather than partition) level and are identified by the prefix *MTXT.
Generally you can use a multilingual variable name throughout the LANSA system. Some examples of this include:
- Within validation checks.
- As default values for fields in the repository.
- Just about anywhere in RDML or RDMLX code.
