About enabling forms to submit data
Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 allows you to submit data entered into a form to a Web service or a Windows SharePoint Services form library, or as an attachment to an e-mail message.
Set up a connection to a SharePoint Services form library that is enabled for form submission.
To set up a connection to a SharePoint Services form library that is enabled for form submission:
- On the Tools menu, click Data Connections.
- Click Add.
- Click Submit data and then click Next.
- Click To a SharePoint Form Library and then click Next.
- In the SharePoint form library box, specify the URL of the SharePoint Services site that contains the form library to which the form will be submitted.
- In the File Name box, specify the name of the file that will be submitted to the form library.
- Click Allow overwrite if file exists if you want to allow an existing file with the same name to be overwritten automatically when the form is submitted to the form library.
- Click Next.
- In the Summary box, make sure the information matches the options you specified, and then click Finished.
Set up an e-mail message that is enabled for form submission.
To set up an e-mail message that is enabled for form submission:
- On the Tools menu, click Data Connections.
- Click Add.
- Click Submit data and then click Next.
- Click As an e-mail message and then click Next.
- Specify the To, Cc, and Bcc recipients, or create an expression to generate the recipient names by clicking the Expression button next to each recipient field.
- Specify the subject or create an expression to generate the subject by clicking the Expression button next to the Subject field.
- Specify the Introduction.
- Specify the attachment name or create an expression to generate the attachment name by clicking the Expression button next to the Attachment Name field.
Note If you do not specify an attachment name, the form will not be attached to the e-mail message.
- Click Next.
- In the Summary box, make sure the information matches the options you specified, and then click Finished.
