Transfer File

Contains the exported license file and is read by the Portable License utility on another computer to import the license. You can move a transfer file to the target computer on a disk, in a shared network folder, or as an email attachment. Transfer files have the file extension .plu.

The first time you export a license to a target computer, the Portable License utility creates a transfer file that must be imported to the target computer. You must also use a transfer file in the following circumstances:

• When copying to a target computer the list of names and identification codes in the computer list of the source computer.
• When changing any license terms since the last license transfer—for example, when switching from an Educational to Commercial version of the product.
