Change the width of a column
- Make sure column headers are displayed.
How?
Column headers are the letters in gray cells (or in cells of another color, depending on your Microsoft Windows display settings) across the top of the spreadsheet, and row headers are the numbers in gray cells down the side of the spreadsheet.
- On the spreadsheet toolbar, click Commands and Options , and then click the Sheet tab.
- Under Show/Hide, select or clear the Column headers or Row headers check boxes.
- Select the columns you want to change.
- Point to the right boundary of the column header of the column or selection until the pointer changes to .

Drag the boundary to the width you want, or, to make the column width fit the contents, double-click the right column boundary.
