Setting default options for each activity type

You can set personal preferences for each activity type. If desired, you can select all the activity types and set the default preferences at one time.

  • Activity types that have reserved resources and activities with multiple users will not automatically roll over.

  • When actually scheduling an activity, you can change any of the default options.

To set options for an activity type

  1. From the Tools menu, click Preferences.

  2. Click the Calendar & Scheduling tab, and then click the Scheduling Preferences button.

  3. In the Activity type settings box, select the activity type.

To select one or more activity types, click the first activity type, hold the Shift key and select all the activity types.

  1. From the Priority list, select the priority level you want to display automatically when the activity type is scheduled.

  2. (Optional) Select Default to timeless to automatically set the activity type as timeless.

  3. From the Ring Alarm list, select how long before the activity you want the alarm to ring.

  4. (Optional) Select Automatically roll over to today to automatically roll over activities.

  5. From the Duration list, select the duration for the activity type.

  6. In the Automatically display drop-downs for these fields field, select the fields for which you want to display drop-downs for the activity type.

  7. When all activity type settings are complete, click OK.
