Changing Remote Printer Settings

You can change most printer connection information without disconnecting and reconnecting. You can change a remote printer using either LPR or Windows Printers Settings.

To change a remote printer using LPR:

  1. Select the window for the appropriate remote printer.
  2. On the Printer menu, click Edit Remote Printer Properties. The Edit Remote Printer Properties dialog box opens.
  3. Make the necessary changes.

To change remote printer settings:

Windows 98/Me

  1. On the Windows Start menu, point to Settings and click Printers.
  2. Select the appropriate local printer.
  3. On the File menu, click Properties. The Properties dialog box opens.
  4. On the Details tab, select the HCL LPR Port you want to change.
  5. Click Port Settings. The Configure LPR Port and Remote Printer dialog box opens.
  6. Make the necessary changes and click OK.

Windows NT/2000/XP/Server 2003

  1. On the Windows Start menu, point to Settings and click Printers.
  2. Select the appropriate local printer.
  3. On the File menu, click Properties. The printer’s Properties dialog box opens.
  4. On the Ports tab, select the HCL LPR Port you want to change.
  5. Click Configure Port. The Configure LPR Port and Remote Printer dialog box opens.
  6. Make the necessary changes and click OK.
