Patient Search

To search for a patient, on the main menu click on patient and then search patient.
A search form will be displayed to you. You can search for patients from this screen by typing any combination of
- name
- medicare number
- date of birth
- patient number
Patient number is an automatically generated number during patient registration which is displayed on the top in a patient's clinical profile. You can make also make use of wildcard characters when searching.
The "Temp" button is disabled when you have opened the search from the menu. If the patient search screen is opened from Appointment screen, then the "Temp" button is available for creating a temporary patient appointment.
If your search matched any records, then the patients will be displayed in the grid below.
You can hit enter on any searched record. This action will take you to the clinical profile of the patient if you have opened the search form from the menu. Otherwise, if the form was opened from appointment screen, then the selected patient's appointment will be created.
Options
- Include Deceased Patient - Setting this option will include patients who are marked as deceased.
- Include Inactive Patient - Setting this option will include in the search results patients who have been marked as inactive. If this option is switched off, the search results will output only those patients who are currently active.
Context Menu Options
If you right click on any searched patient (the search form being opened from the main menu), a context menu will popup.
If you select future appointments, then the software will display any future appointments of the selected patient in the Appointment Search form.
Selecting this menu will show you a report of the bills outstanding for the selected patient.
The write letter option will open up a separate window where you can write a letter and save or print it. Write letter is described in the correspondence section of the clinical profile.
