Handling Output Files for HTML Indexes

For HTML indexes, the wizard places the .htm file for the index in the output directory that you specify in the HTML Directory Path box on the HTML Page Information screen. As with deployment projects, you have two options with this specification:

  • You can make the output folder a non-web server directory. If you choose this option, you need to copy or FTP the index .htm file to a web server directory.
  • You can map the output directory on your web server to a Windows drive letter, and specify the relative path (with the drive letter) in the HTML Directory path box. If you choose this option, you do not need to copy or FTP any files, since the wizard automatically places them in this location.

For all of the links in the HTML index page to work, all of the specified deployment projects must be in the same output directory as the index page.
