Data Recovery
There are three ways how to recover data using WinHex. All require that you open the disk to recover from with the disk editor.
1) File recovery with the directory browser: You navigate to a directory (or explore the root directory recursively), select the files to recover, and use the Recover/Copy command in the context menu.
2) Automatic recovery of files of a certain type (does not require a healthy file system)
Important: At any rate, do not use the drive that you wish to recover from for writing data any more! You may inadvertantly overwrite lost files, making them unrecoverable. This includes not booting Windows from such a drive any more, as this involves numerous write operations.
