Copy and paste pages or text
You can copy and paste pages within a Microsoft Office Document Imaging document or between documents.
- In the thumbnail pane, select the pages you want to copy. To select more than one page, hold down the CTRL key as you select pages.
- Right-click any selected page, and then click Copy Pages on the shortcut menu.
- Right-click the thumbnail page that precedes the location where you want to paste the copied pages, and then click Paste Pages on the shortcut menu.
You can copy selected areas of text in the page pane or in Reading view. When you make a text selection, only entire words are selected. Words that extend beyond the selection rectangle are selected in their entirety.
- In the page pane, select the area you want to copy.
- Right-click the selected area, and then click Copy Text on the shortcut menu.
- Switch to the program into which you want to paste the copied text, and then use that program's paste command.
Note You cannot paste text, page contents, or selected areas back into Microsoft Office Document Imaging documents, but you can paste them into other programs.
You can copy images of selected areas of the page in the page pane.
- In the page pane, select the area you want to copy.
- Right-click the selected area, and then click Copy Image on the shortcut menu.
- Switch to the program into which you want to paste the copied image, and then use that program's paste command.
Note You cannot paste images back into Microsoft Office Document Imaging documents, but you can paste them into other programs.
You can copy all the text on a page or an image of the entire page.
- In the thumbnail pane, select the page you want to copy.
- On the Edit menu, click Select All.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy Text or Copy Image.
- Switch to the program into which you want to paste the copied text or image, and then use that program's paste command.
If you have a page that is only partially filled with content, you can crop it within Microsoft Office Document Imaging.
In the page pane, drag the mouse to select just the area containing the content. Right-click the selection and click Copy Image on the shortcut menu. In the thumbnail pane, right-click the thumbnail that precedes the location where you want to paste the copied image, and then click Paste Pages on the shortcut menu.
Paste pages from another program
You can copy an image from another program and paste it into Microsoft Office Document Imaging as a new page.
- In the other program, copy the image you want to paste.
- In the thumbnail pane, right-click the thumbnail that precedes the location where you want to paste the copied page, and then click Paste Pages on the shortcut menu.
If you have a page that is only partially filled with content, you can crop it within Microsoft Office Document Imaging.
