Returns a string containing the name of a symbol

(vl-symbol-name  symbol)

Arguments

symbol

Any LISP symbol.

Return Values

A string containing the name of the supplied symbol argument, in uppercase.

"S::STARTUP"
_$ (progn (setq sym 'my-var)
(vl-symbol-name sym))
