Importing ACT! data
An Administrator or Manager user can import data from another ACT! database. When you import contact or group records from a previous version of ACT! (ACT! 3.x - 6.x allowed), all notes, histories, activities, and opportunities associated with the contact and group records will import.

To import ACT! data
Open the ACT! database you want to import data to.
From the File menu, click Import.
Follow the instructions the screens, clicking Next to advance. Press F1 for more help.
You will be asked to specify options including:
The file type
The file name and location
The type of records to import
How fields should be mapped
Click Finish.
The Importing Data progress indicator appears. If you selected the Confirm each match option on the Specify Merge Options screen, if duplicate records are found while importing, you can decide to create a new record, merge the record with the existing record, or skip the import of the record.
