Remarks
SQLCurrentVersion retrieves the version of a default instance of SQL Server from the Registry key setting in SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\MSSQLServer\\MSSQLServer\\CurrentVersion. The version is returned in the form 8.00.078 where 8 is the major version number, 00 is the minor version number, and 078 is the build number.
Note If an application calls SQLCurrentVersion on an instance of SQL Server version 7.0, the constant, SQLDMO_E_SQL80ONLY, and the message "This property or method requires Microsoft SQL Server 2000" are returned.
