1 3 Root Privileges Required

Install LANSA on Linux

1.3 Root Privileges Required

LANSA for Linux requires root privileges for the following operations only:

  • Running the LANSA for Linux installer.
  • Starting and stopping the LANSA Connect Listener.
  • Starting and stopping the Apache Web Server. (Optional)

For any other LANSA for Linux operations, root privileges are generally not required. Most of the time, you should simply use a login, which is a member of the LANSA Group of the LANSA installation you are using. The login is not even necessarily being the LANSA Owner unless you are going to make changes to certain configuration files.
