6.1 IBM i host
Set up a Separate Listener
If you install a second LANSA system on the same machine, it will have its own communications configuration. That is, each LANSA system has its own separate listener. To avoid conflicts between this second listener and the listener from the first LANSA system you need to:
- Edit the LANSA (i.e. configuration item COMMS_DEFINITIONS) in your second LANSA system and change the prefix for the session's job name. This is not mandatory but will help you identify session jobs started by this listener instance.
If you change the user queue for session jobs, ensure it is unique and not used by other listeners.
- Before creating or upgrading an additional listener, check if the following LANSA libraries are in the library list:
- LANSA program library
- LANSA communication library
If these libraries are not in the library list, add them by using the IBM i command ADDLIBLE.
The options are:
6.1.1 Create an Additional Listener
6.1.2 Upgrade an Additional Listener
