Item Properties Dialog Box

In the Item Properties dialog box, you must specify where the source files for the installation are located, where the packages will be installed, and whether or not to replace the file at the time of installation.

To access this dialog box, click Item Properties on the Item menu, or double-click an item in the main area of the Deployment Packager window.

Location Options

Source File—Specifies the path and name of the file that will be deployed. To refer to a list of replacers that you can use to specify the path, see Replacers

Destination—Specifies the location where the file will be installed on the remote desktop. To refer to a list of replacers that you can use to specify the path, see Replacers

Installation Options

Replace this File—Specifies how the deployed file will replace an existing file (if any) at installation time on the remote machine.

Always—Always replace the existing file when the deployed file is installed.

When Version is Newer—Only replace the existing file when the version of the deployed file is more recent.

When Version or Date is Newer—Only replace the existing file when the version or the date of the deployed file is more recent.

When Date/Time is Newer—Only replace the existing file when the date/time of the deployed file is more recent.

Never—Never replace the existing file when the deployed file is installed.

Register this Item—Specifies whether or not to register the package item at installation time.
