ec2-describe-addresses

Syntax

ec2-describe-addresses [public_ip ...]

Description

Lists elastic IP addresses assigned to your account.

Options

OptionDescriptionRequired

public_ip

Elastic IP addresses to describe

Example: 67.202.55.255

No

Output

Amazon EC2 returns a table that contains the following information:

  • Output type identifier ("ADDRESS")

  • Elastic IP address assigned to your account

  • Instance ID to which the IP address is assigned

Amazon EC2 displays errors on stderr.

Example

This example returns elastic IP addresses assigned to the account.

$ ec2-describe-addresses 

Amazon EC2 returns 67.202.55.255 which is assigned to instance i-f15ebb98 and 67.202.55.233 which is not assigned to an instance.

ADDRESS 67.202.55.255  i-f15ebb98
ADDRESS 67.202.55.233
