Environment

NI switch modules use components whose performance can be adversely affected by operation outside the specified limits. For more information, refer to the Environment section in the specifications document of the device at Related Documentation.

For best performance, observe the following recommendations:

• Operate the NI switch module in a PXI-compliant chassis at an ambient temperature between 0 ºC and 55 ºC and at a relative humidity up to 90%.
• Use a chassis that has a well-designed cooling system. All NI PXI chassis meet this requirement.

  Note  To ensure that the NI switch device operates at peak performance within the chassis, refer to Chassis Recommendations.

• Keep the NI switch device clean and free from contaminants.

Operating under high humidity (>90%) or dusty conditions may cause increased leakage between circuit components and can result in additional errors.
