View a formula and its result at the same time

  1. In the design window, make sure the spreadsheet is activated. For instructions, see Help for your design program.
  2. Click the cell that contains the formula you want to view.
  3. On the toolbar, click Commands and Options , and then click the Formula tab.
  4. Review the formula in the Formula in active cell (reference) box. The result of the formula is displayed in the Cell value box.
