Once you have exported a contact list to Outlook, a link is set up such that when you make changes to the contact list on Windows SharePoint Services, these changes are also made in the contact list in Outlook. These changes are displayed the next time you reload the contact list in Outlook.
- In the Standard view or the Datasheet view of a contact list, right-click at the contact you would like to export. Click Export Contact.
- You will be prompted to confirm downloading a virtual business card file (with extension vcf). Click Open.
This exports the contact to the default Outlook contacts list Contacts. Subsequently you can decide whether to save the contact in Contacts, or in another contact list.
In the Standard view and the Datasheet view of a event list, you can export an entire event list or an individual event from an event list to Microsoft Outlook.
- In the Standard view or the Datasheet view of an event list, click Link to Outlook on the toolbar.
- Outlook prompts you to confirm adding a Windows SharePoint Services folder for the event list. Click Yes.
Once you have exported an event list to Outlook, a calendar is created on Outlook for the event list. A link is set up such that when you make changes to the event list on Windows SharePoint Services, these changes are also made in the calendar in Outlook. These changes are displayed the next time you reload the calendar in Outlook.
If you are in the Datasheet view of an event list
Right-click anywhere on the row for the event you would like to export. Click Export Event.If you are in the Standard view of a event list
Click the event you would like to export. Then click Export Event.- You will be prompted to confirm downloading an Internet calendar file (with extension ics). Click Open.
This exports the event to the default Outlook calendar Calendar. Subsequently you can decide whether to save the event in Calendar, or in another calendar.
