Converting Serialized/Lotted Data from Previous Versions
If you were using version 5.5 or 5.3B of Serialized Inventory or Lot Tracking with your previous version of Sage ERP Accpac, you must run the Accpac SN/LT conversion program to convert the Serialized Inventory and Lot Tracking data before you can use version 5.6 programs.
Before you begin, make sure you run a Data Integrity Check the to clean up your data in the previous version. Do so in the program you are upgrading from, not in version 5.6.
Note: Any data used by third party products to access SN/LT history tables or record other information will be ignored during conversion.
To run the conversion program:

Activate your Inventory Control data if you haven't already done so.

Double-click the Accpac SN/LT Data Conversion icon in the Inventory Control folder. This should be the only icon that appears in the folder.

A window appears with default mask serial and lot mask codes (assuming you have both kinds of items in your inventory data). You can change the default codes.

Click Process.
A message appears confirming the conversion, icons appear in the Inventory Control folder and the system is available for you to use.
