Work with menus and commands by using shortcut keys
The menu bar is a special toolbar at the top of the screen that contains menus such as File, Edit, and View. In the following list, the term "toolbar" includes the menu bar.

| ALT, letter1, letter2 | Open a command on a menu on the menu bar, where letter1 is the underlined letter in the menu name and letter2 is the underlined letter in the command name |

| CTRL+TAB | When a toolbar is active, select the next toolbar |
| CTRL+SHIFT+TAB | When a toolbar is active, select the previous toolbar |
| TAB | Select the next menu or button on the active toolbar |
| SHIFT+TAB | Select the previous menu or button on the active toolbar |
| UP ARROW | Select previous menu item on the active menu or submenu |
| DOWN ARROW | Select next menu item on the active menu or submenu |
| SHIFT+F10 | Display a shortcut menu |
| HOME or END | Select the first or last command on the active menu or submenu |
| ALT | Close the active menu and submenu at the same time |
| ESC | Close the active menu or active submenu only |
| ALT+SPACEBAR | Show the program icon menu (on the program title bar) |
| ENTER | Open the active menu, or perform the action assigned to the selected button or command |
