To gray out (disable) a command's menu label
- Click Tools tab Customization panel User Interface . At the command prompt, enter cui.
- In the Customize User Interface Editor, Customize tab, in the Customizations In <file name> pane, click the plus sign (+) next to the menu that contains the command you want to disable.
- Click
the command you want to gray out.
- In
the Properties pane, in the Name field, add a tilde (~) at the beginning of
the command.NoteThe command must be selected from the Customizations In pane, otherwise you are just modifying the name of the command and not the label that is displayed to the user.
- Click
OK.
The changes to the command will be visible after the changes have been applied and the CUI Editor is closed.
