To create a status line help message

Click
Tools
tab
Customization
panel
User
Interface
. 
At the command prompt,
enter cui.
- In
the Customize User Interface Editor, Customize tab, Command List pane,
click the command to which you want to add a help message.
- In
the Properties pane, Description box, enter the descriptive text
for the selected command.
- Click
the Apply button.
The next time you use the command, the descriptive text you added is displayed in the status line when the cursor hovers over the command on a menu.
