Open Microsoft Outlook.
From the Tools menu, click Services.
In the Services dialog box, click the Services tab, and then click Add.
A list of available services appears.
Select ACT! 2005 Address Book, and then click OK.
In the dialog box, in the First address book box, click Browse to navigate to the ACT! database that includes the address book you want to use in Outlook.
Type the User name and Password for the database.
Repeat steps 5 and 6 for a second and third address book, if desired, and then click OK.
Outlook attempts to connect to the specified ACT! database(s). A message appears at the bottom of the dialog box and lets you know if the connection was successful.
Click Finish to close the dialog boxes.
Exit Outlook and then open it again.
The Outlook screen appears with the Attach to ACT! contacts button added to the toolbar.
Open Microsoft Outlook.
From the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
The E-mail Accounts wizard opens.
In the E-mail Accounts pane, under Directory, select Add a new directory or address book, and then click Next.
In the Directory or Address Book Type pane, select Additional Address Books, and then click Next.
Select the ACT! 2005 Address Book, and click Next.
The ACT! Address Book(s) dialog box appears. You can add up to three address books for three databases.
In the First address book box, click Browse to locate and select the ACT! database that includes the address book you want to add to Outlook.
Type the ACT! Administrator user's User Name and Password.
Follow steps 6 and 7 again to add second and third address books, if desired, and then click OK.
Outlook attempts to connect to the specified ACT! database(s). A message appears at the bottom of the dialog box and lets you know if the connection was successful.
Click Finish.
Exit Outlook and then open it again.
The Outlook screen appears with the Attach to ACT! Contacts button added to the toolbar.
Adding ACT! address books to Outlook
The procedures for adding address books in Outlook 2000 and 2002/2003 differ slightly. Please follow the procedure for the version of Outlook that is currently installed on your system.
